Lunch and Learn:

Gardening with Children with Mary Helen Phillips.  Does your child think carrots grow in the grocery store?  Here is how to teach children how our food is grown and the encourage healthy eating habits.  Gardening with children is fun interactive activity and children of all ages.  Through gardening children learn a myriad of science and health lessons. 
Besides all the incredible educational benefits, its fun to dig in the dirt.

Mary Helen Phillips Master Gardener, Junior Master Gardener Specialist and Vegetable Specialist will present an overview of the school garden program in Comal and New Braunfels ISDs.  Parents and grandparents interested in gardening with children at home or starting a program in a school or home school program are encouraged to attend.  Teachers and school administrators interested in starting a school garden program are also encouraged to attend.  This presentation will be geared to the specific questions and needs of the audience.  Coffee, tea, and cookies provided.
